1988rice – E-Sports Betting Malaysia
From MPL Malaysia to The International — 1988rice brings you the most complete e-sports betting platform for gaming fans in Malaysia. Competitive odds, in-play markets, minimum deposit RM 10.
If you're a true e-sports fan, you know the thrill of watching the Mobile Legends Professional League (MPL) Malaysia every week — screaming when Todak or Fnatic MY pulls off a jaw-dropping comeback, or losing your mind when your favourite player secures that crucial late-game objective. Now imagine that same excitement with real money riding on the result. That's exactly what 1988rice through our comprehensive esports betting platform.
Esports is no longer just a teenage hobby. In Malaysia, the industry has grown at a remarkable pace in recent years. MPL Malaysia now draws hundreds of thousands of viewers each season. Malaysian esports athletes competing on the international stage have become household names. And with that growth, interest in esports betting has risen too — players with deep knowledge of the games now hold a genuine edge over those who are simply guessing.
At 1988rice, we understand the Malaysian e-sports community better than any generic betting platform. We don't just list matches — we offer betting markets that are genuinely relevant to the titles local players love most. Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, the most popular game in Malaysia, gets the most comprehensive coverage with hundreds of matches every season. DOTA 2 with its top international leagues is another key focus, alongside CS2, Valorant, and several other popular titles.
To get started with e-sports betting at 1988rice, all you need is a registered account and funds loaded via any Malaysian local payment method — Touch 'n Go eWallet, GrabPay, Boost, ShopeePay, DuitNow or FPX via Maybank2u or CIMB Clicks. The minimum deposit is just RM 20, and funds hit your account within seconds. Minimum bet starts as low as RM 10, making it easy to get started without taking on much risk.
A key advantage 1988rice compared to other platforms is the active in-play market for esports. This means you can place bets while a match is in progress — not just before it starts. Odds shift in real time based on what's happening in the game, and if you understand the meta, this can be an extremely profitable opportunity. Knowing that a team typically dominates in the late game lets you capitalise on odds that move throughout the match.

Many Malaysian e-sports fans who try mainstream betting platforms often come away disappointed — limited title selection, bare-bones markets, and uncompetitive odds. At 1988rice, we have built our esports section specifically for the Malaysian gaming community, with a clear understanding of what truly matters to local fans.
First, MPL Malaysia coverage at 1988rice is the most comprehensive. Every week throughout the MPL season, you can bet on all matches across a wide range of markets — not just the match winner, but also map handicap, total maps played, and in-play markets updated by the minute. This means anyone who follows MPL closely and understands each team's form has a real edge when it comes to making smarter betting decisions.
Second, the 1988rice fully optimised for smartphones. Most e-sports viewers in Malaysia watch matches on their phones — so we built our platform to let you watch the stream, track odds, and place bets all on the same screen without switching between apps. The responsive, fast interface means you never miss an opportunity when odds shift suddenly during a close match.
Third, VIP points accumulated from esports bets at 1988rice is equivalent to points earned from regular sports bets or casino games. This means active e-sports players at 1988rice can rank up through VIP tiers quickly and enjoy weekly cashback, betting rebates, and a range of exclusive rewards — just like casino or sports players receive. There is no discrimination by bet type within the VIP programme 1988rice.
Fourth, customer support 1988rice is among the most responsive in the industry. Whether you have questions about a specific market, need to verify the status of an in-play bet, or are facing issues with deposits or withdrawals — our support team is available 24/7 and can assist you within minutes via live chat. Many of our support staff are e-sports fans themselves, so they understand the game context, making communication smoother and more effective.
Fifth, 1988rice regularly runs special promotions for esports betting — especially during major tournaments like The International for DOTA 2, CS2 Major Championships, or the MPL World Championship. During these events, members can enjoy boosted odds, esports-exclusive cashback, and winner prediction contests with cash prizes. Make sure you keep an eye on the promotions section in your account 1988rice throughout the year.
Unlike traditional sports betting, esports betting requires a solid understanding of the games themselves. Someone who keeps up with the latest Mobile Legends meta — which heroes are overpowered, which teams are strong in early game versus late game, the head-to-head record between sides — holds a real edge. Use your gaming knowledge as an asset, not just for entertainment.
One more useful tip: don't overlook handicap markets when you're confident in a team's advantage but the outright odds are already too low. A -1.5 map handicap on a strong team can offer far better value than a straight win bet, while still reflecting your analysis accurately.
Congratulations to our latest winners from across Malaysia!

"I've been following MPL MY since Season 8. When 1988rice started offering e-sports betting with in-play markets, I jumped right in. My knowledge of the MLBB meta gives me an edge over people who are just guessing. Within one season, I'd made a net profit of over RM 7,000. The 1988rice platform is fast and easy to use on mobile."
"I placed a 4-match CS2 Major parlay bet — picked all four winners correctly and walked away with RM 15,600. The odds at 1988rice are way more competitive than any other platform I've used. Depositing via Touch 'n Go was effortless and withdrawals came through fast. This was my first big win from e-sports betting."
